Lockdown Chronicles

Who else has lost track of the date and day of the week,

Because honestly what’s the point of keeping track?

Meetings are now held in the room, in pajamas and hair bonnets,

Because honestly what’s the point of getting dressed up?

Conversations now happen via social media platforms

Because we can’t even engage in face to face dialog

Eating out is banned, we all have to cook now

Good luck if you can’t.

Remember how we used to look forward to the weekend with so much anticipation,

Gone are the Saturdays we get all \’glammed\’ up and get our swags on for owambe

Friday prayers and Sunday services are on hold as well

Game nights used to be so much fun, all we can do now is download games and play on the phones

Even FIFA 20 is tired, it wants to rest.

Who else is finding it difficult to conjure up motivation for this “work from home” business?

Because honestly, it doesn’t feel the same.

The simple day to day activities that we have constantly taken for granted are now things we miss the most. Things like driving, hugging, shaking hands, proper human interaction, getting dressed up, travelling, hanging out and so many others.

All we can do is hope and pray this phase passes soon, we can then resume the regular activities while being better people to others around us and appreciating each day

Because it is a gift.

In the meantime, stay home and stay safe.

Love and light.
