Decisions and Consequences

What was your typical Saturday like, before the lock-down? A day of rest, hangout, football games, more work, or owambe? Whatever it was, i\’m sure you miss it.

Life as we now know it isn’t what it used to be; several adjustments have had to be made to make room for these changes. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like things will change anytime soon, the numbers of infected persons keep increasing daily and there is still no cure.

With the recent news about easing  the lock-down and a curfew put in place starting from the 4th of May, a lot of people are quite eager to go back to their normal lives, even though nothing about life is normal for now, can’t really blame them, people are scared of losing their jobs and others haven’t even be earning since the lock-down started plus the government hasn’t been forthcoming with the palliative measures and that just makes the whole situation frustrating.

Was it really a good idea to ease the lock-down and ask people to return to work?

What about schools that are still closed, where are parents supposed to put their children while at work?

Is the curfew actually realistic?

How will the government ensure that offices have been fumigated?

How will social distancing work inside buses/cabs and office spaces?

From all angles, it is clear that the bad outweighs the good in this situation and we can only hope that this move won’t result in Nigeria having a situation we are not capable of controlling on our hands.

That being said, the importance of following all the necessary precautions cannot be overemphasized.

Wash your hands

Use a mask

Keep your distance

Cough or sneeze into your elbow

Keep your space clean

Boost your immune system

If you or anyone you know has the symptoms, reach out to the necessary authorities.

Stay safe

Stay healthy
